UNIX Deleting Directories

Use

rm -ir (dir name)

to remove an empty or non-empty UNIX directory. The ‘i’ option is a sensible precaution to help avoid mistakes. It brings up the name of the file / directory being deleted with a ‘delete Yes/No?’ option.
